What did you do before becoming a real estate agent?

Before I got into real estate I ran a company that processed claims for against a siding company that had a class action lawsuit against it.  We would let owners of the homes know about the claim, process it for them, and take a small percentage.  This is where I met investors that had multiple properties and I started to take interest in real estate.

What do you like best about your career as a realtor?

I love the feeling you get when you help someone get through a tough time in a transaction.  When your client thinks that you did something that most other agents couldn’t.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a real estate agent?

I am passionate about what I do and I put my client’s needs above anything else.

Other than referrals, what is one unique way you have marketed your business that has worked successfully?

We have been very successful with Facebook advertising.

What advice do you give to first-time home buyers?

Do your research.  Make sure you have your agent pull comps.  And if you fall in love with a home that is near a busy intersection or has road noise, make sure that you buy it below the comparable listings nearby that don’t have that detractor.  Because when you sell it, you will have to price below those listings.

Are there any business, real estate, or marketing books you would recommend?

The Conversion Code, The Four Hour Work Week, The Millionaire Agent

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?

I enjoy playing baseball with my son and playing video games with him. Going to dinner with my wife and a movie after.

What’s the best advice you’d give your younger self?

Take more risks and remember to fail forward.  Don’t beat yourself up over mistakes and try new things every day.
